3–4. Information Collection and Types of Data

We collect different types of information to provide and improve the Service.

Personal Data

This may include your email address, name, phone number, address, country, state, province, PIN or postal code, city, cookies and Usage Data. We may send newsletters or promotional information; you may opt out through the unsubscribe link.

Usage Data

Usage Data may include IP address, browser type and version, pages visited, visit time and duration, device type and identifiers, operating system and diagnostic data.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies, such as beacons, tags and scripts, to operate, improve and analyse the Service. These may include session, preference, security and advertising cookies. Refusing cookies may make some parts of the Service unavailable.

Other Data

Where relevant, registration or use of the Service may involve information about age, sex, birth, citizenship, residence, contact details, education, qualifications, professional training, employment, compensation, family, taxpayer identification or government identity proof, and other data you provide.

5. Optional Location and PIN Code Detection

Ultralocal provides an optional “Use my current location” feature for visitors who do not know the PIN Code of their present area. The feature is not activated automatically. It operates only after you click the option and grant location permission through your browser or device.

If you permit access, your device supplies its current latitude and longitude to your browser. Ultralocal uses official geo-fenced PIN Code boundary data published by the Department of Posts, Government of India, to perform the coordinate-to-PIN match within your browser. We do not send your precise coordinates to a third-party reverse-geocoding provider.

To make the match, your browser downloads from Ultralocal only the boundary tile for the surrounding one-degree geographic area. Your exact latitude and longitude remain on your device and are not stored by Ultralocal. As with ordinary website requests, our hosting and security providers may receive your IP address and may log the coarse boundary-tile request.

We use the matched PIN Code and office or postal-circle name only to display and open the concerned local page during your current browsing session, unless you separately submit that information through another feature.

You may refuse permission, dismiss a detected result, select another PIN Code or revoke location permission through your browser or device settings. Manual PIN Code search remains available. Because device and desktop location estimates may be approximate, Ultralocal asks you to confirm the detected PIN Code before opening the local page.

6. Use of Data

  • Provide, maintain and improve the Service.
  • Identify a PIN Code and open the appropriate local page when you voluntarily use location detection.
  • Notify you of changes and enable interactive features.
  • Provide support and analyse Service usage.
  • Monitor usage and detect, prevent or address technical issues.
  • Fulfil the purpose for which data was provided.
  • Perform contracts, billing and collection, and enforce our rights.
  • Send account notices, news and relevant offers unless you opt out.
  • Use data as otherwise described when collected or with your consent.

7–10. Retention, Transfer, Disclosure and Security

We retain Personal Data only as long as necessary for this policy’s purposes, legal obligations, disputes and enforcement. Usage Data is usually retained for a shorter period unless required for security, functionality or law. Ultralocal does not receive or retain the precise coordinates used by the optional PIN detection feature.

Information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with different data-protection laws. If you are outside India, your data may be transferred to India. Ordinary hosting, content-delivery and security logs may be processed by our service providers under appropriate controls.

We may disclose information when required by law or valid public-authority request; during a merger, acquisition or asset sale; to subsidiaries, affiliates, contractors and Service Providers; to fulfil the purpose for which it was supplied; with consent; or to protect rights, property or safety.

No internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We use commercially acceptable safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. GDPR Rights

EU and EEA residents may have rights to access, update, delete or rectify information; object to or restrict processing; receive portable data; and withdraw consent. We may verify your identity, and some data may be necessary to provide the Service. You may complain to your local Data Protection Authority. Email requests to contact@ultralocal.in.

11. CalOPPA and Do Not Track

Users may visit anonymously. The Privacy link is available on the home page, policy changes will be posted here, and users may request correction by email. We honour enabled Do Not Track browser signals and do not track, plant cookies or use advertising when such a mechanism is in place.

12. California Consumer Privacy Act

California residents may request the categories and specific pieces of Personal Data collected, its sources and purposes, and categories of third parties with whom it was shared. Eligible requests may be made twice in a rolling 12-month period and may cover the previous 12 months.

You may request deletion, subject to legal exceptions, and ask us to stop transfers treated as a sale. We do not sell or rent Personal Data for monetary consideration and will not discriminate against you for exercising CCPA rights. Some requests may affect features requiring Personal Data. Email contact@ultralocal.in.

14–18. Service Providers, Analytics and Advertising

We may engage third parties to facilitate or provide the Service, host and secure it, analyse its use, automate development, display advertising or provide behavioural remarketing. Optional location-based PIN detection does not use a third-party reverse-geocoding service. Service Providers may access Personal Data only for assigned tasks and must not use it for another purpose. We and advertising vendors may use cookies to optimise advertising based on prior visits.

18. Links to Other Sites

The Service may link to sites we do not operate. Review each third party’s privacy policy. We are not responsible for their content, privacy policies or practices.

19. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children. If you believe a child supplied Personal Data, contact us. If we learn that such data was collected without verified parental consent, we will take steps to remove it.

21. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy by posting a new version here. Where appropriate, we will provide email or prominent notice before a change takes effect and update the effective date. This version was updated to describe on-device matching against official Department of Posts PIN Code boundary data.

21. Jurisdiction

This policy and disputes arising under it are governed by Indian law. You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hyderabad, India.
